This is probably the best kept secret! Don't let the "German" atmosphere scare you off. They make wonderfully medium-rare burgers and my wife hade a chicken breast dinner that was terrific! Great beer and wine as well. But if you like German food, they have that covered too!

This review is based on the bar only!
Met up with my friend here, as we were looking for a local spot to grab a beer and catch up. We accidentally came in on bingo night, so it was a bit louder and busier than we would have liked. Our service was quick and great and I enjoyed my Lift Bridge Mango Ale. Prices are fine. I would like to return and try some of their food one day! -

It's always a good sign when you walk in and just feel comfortable.
That's what the Bierstube does for me. Nothing fancy. Nobody telling you what to do or where to go. The waitress is always there and will get over to you. Eventually.
German theme, but other than some fine dark beers, I've never tried the German food. But why would you when you can come on a Friday and get the AYCE Fish Fry. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you it's the best in the city, but it's definitely one of the best "Bar Fish Frys" around. And I have tried literally dozens of fish frys in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. The fish has always come out hot and fresh. It's flaky, crispy, and when you dollop some tarter and throw malt vinegar, it's phenomenal. Re-orders of the fish can take a while however so I suggest asking for more fish right away.
The fries are crinkle fries and nothing too special. The coleslaw comes without sauce so you can add the amount you want. Kids meals are very reasonable.
It's a comfortable place with TVs to watch the game. Waitresses are nice and fairly attentive. Just in case you feel like taking a few extra hypertension meds, they have fresh salty popcorn available.
Give the 'Stube a try, especially if you were stupid like me and took German in high school. Dumkopf! -

Our 1st time was our last time... nothing about this place would bring us back.
There was 1 table with an older group of people having dinner and 2 single woman on opposite sides of the bar alone. The one sat right next to me and cheered on the Vikings which I found disturbing due to the fact that she could have sat anywhere...
We were given the wrong beer by the bartender who didn't really want to be there... 1 drink was enough, no reason to return... -

Good place to meet friends for a game but wouldn't go out of my way to eat/drink here.
